The National is comprised of two sets of brothers, Aaron and Bryce Desner and Scott and Bryan Devendorf, alongside vocalist Matt Berninger. The National were formed in Cincinnatti, Ohio, in 1999, releasing their first - self titled album "The National" in 2001. To date they have released eight albums. Their sixth studio album, "Trouble Will Find Me" (2013), was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, and their next album, 2017's "Sleep Well Beast," won the Grammy award for Best Alternative Music Album at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards. Their most recent album was released in 2019 and is titled " I Am Easy to Find". Their musical style mixes post punk with elements of indie, alternative, and art rock. They have drawn comparisons to to Joy Division, Depeche Mode, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Leonard Cohen, Interpol, and Wilco, The National are scheduled to release a cassette box set titled Juicy Sonic Magic for Record Store Day Black Friday on November 29, 2019
