The Japanese House is the performance name of vocalist and multi instrumentalist Amber Bain; who plays guitar, synthesizer, and keyboards. Amber Bain's music fuses genres such as indie pop, electronica, and dream pop. Her debut album Good at Falling was released on 1 March 2019. and she co-produced the album with George Daniel (of The 1975) and BJ Burton, who has worked with James Blake and Bon Iver. Amber Bain has a close association with The 1975 and her first tour was as an opening act for them. In September 2019, Bain released a single titled "Something Has to Change", she has also announced an upcoming extended play of the same name set for release in November 2019.
