First held in Denver, USA, in 1993 the UFC - Ultimate Fighting Championship - combines various fighting forms and martial arts, these include ......... boxing, wrestling, Muay Thai, karate, kickboxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, sambo, and judo. Many fighters have combined several of these fighting forms and the event has grown into a worldwide franchise which has now held over 500 events and garnered mainstream media coverage, particularly following "UFC 100" in 2009. In 2018 the first Russian UFC event was held in Moscow. The first UFC event in the UK, known as UFC 38: Brawl at the Hall took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London, United Kingdom, on July 13, 2002. The event was broadcast live on pay-per-view in the United States, later also being released on home video.
