Originally known as Kropp Circle the band was formed in Toronto in 2008, the band changed their name to Palaye Royale in summer 2011 - the name was taken from the dance hall Palais Royale in Toronto, where their grandparents first met. Two studio albums to date ........ Boom Boom Room (side A) in 2016 and Boom Boom Room (side B) in 2018. The band have frequently been described as; and identify themselves as; fashion-art rock, mixing genres including art rock, rock and roll, glam rock, garage rock , and indie rock.

Formerly one of Bristols best known nightclubs - Syndicate. A major refurbishment saw the venue reopen as SWX in 2015. Boasting a state of the art sound system, lights, and lasers, SWX now hosts club nights, student and special events, and live music concerts. As a club it holds 1800, as a live venue its main room can accomodate approx 1100 standing.
